RigNet Earns 3rd Safety Award for Systems Integration Work on Multi-Billion Dollar Ethane Construction Project in South Texas

This week, RigNet’s Systems Integration (SI) team was awarded the “No Hurts” award for its dedication to and focus on achieving the high safety expectations outlined in the stringent HSE requirements set by its client, a Super Major Joint Venture at a new facility in Texas.

The HSE program for the new, multi-billion dollar Ethane Steam Cracker project was established to provide a safe work environment from Day 1 to completion and has several sports-themed awards which are presented to contractors every month in support of the project’s Safety Vision Wheel. These awards include:

  • Grand Champion – Wrestling Championship Belt given to the Overall Safety Champion for the month
  • Crew of the Month – Lombardy Trophy (Superbowl)
  • O&I Leader – Stanley Cup – Awarded for the highest number of quality Safety Observations per month per person
  • Golden Broom – Housekeeping Award
  • Wood Safety Shield – Awarded to a group

The No Hurts safety helmet stickers are awarded every month to contractors on the project which achieve one or more of the following criteria: No Hurts (accidents), No Spills, No Property Damage, No High Potential (safety) Incidents. To date, RigNet has the distinction of achieving a total of 16 out of 16 possible stickers during the first four months of the year.

RigNet has also won both the Crew of the Month and the O&I Leader Stanley Cup over the past several months. The Crew of the Month is an important recognition because RigNet’s site team is substantial, composed of 30 Telecoms Systems Integration Specialists. The performance of this crew was recognized out of about 1000 site workers. The Crew of the Month award encompasses Safety, Housekeeping, and Execution performance. Additionally, RigNet has repeatedly won multiple O&I Leader awards each month.  To receive this award, Site leadership reviews the O&I cards submitted by site workers daily and selects the cards which best demonstrate the commitment to the project’s safety protocols.  RigNet has excelled in this area.
