RigNet offers the use of SCINS (Service Company Integrated Network Solution) as a cost-effective way for remote communications onboard a rig where RigNet already is the incumbent provider.
The SCINS product provides a robust wireless broadband connection with a committed information rate (CIR) seamlessly and securely. SCINS provides four network connections for maximum flexibility (one used for phone).
Maximum flexibility
SCINS allows the service company workstations on the rig to be connected to the internet, a secure rig network (eliminating costly fiber runs for remote displays), or back to a corporate network without additional routers or gateways.
The SCINS product is also well suited for the environments associated with remote land sites. The wireless networking ability enables devices such as wireless IP intercoms making this product ideal for company representatives and rig supervisors who may work in temporary trailers on the job site.
Designed to meet service company needs
SCINS comes in a rugged portable package with an external antenna design to receive wireless signals that may not otherwise penetrate the service company containers. Wireless mesh technology also is implemented to ensure connectivity is not interrupted as equipment is moved around on the rig.
For even easier access, the SCINS unit can be permanently mounted in the service company trailer so that it is connected the moment it arrives onboard and is powered up. This allows the on-site engineers to focus on their core jobs instead of setting up or troubleshooting the communications system.
Proven reliability
SCINS has been subjected to in-house and external service company qualification testing over the RigNet network and 3rd party communication systems. In addition, SCINS has been deployed on hundreds of jobs for service companies.
